How to identify this generation

What to notice in the specifications

  • Titleist’s table runs from the 1-iron to a 59° LW (13 clubs) with D1 swing weights through the PW and offsets from .260 in to .040 in.
  • DCI 981SL is a separate page with weaker lofts (33° 7-iron) and C9 swing weights.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.

Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
