What we are building
Our starting collection is older iron sets, with generation-specific specifications and practical explanations. The aim is to help you identify a head, find the original numbers and understand what still needs checking on a used club.
We launched this reference in September 2026. It is a small collection that will grow as distinct, source-supported records are checked. It is not a complete catalog of every golf club.
How we use sources
Model records link to the manufacturer page or specification sheet used and state when it was checked. We record factual measurements in our own table layout, write our own explanations and link to the original documents. Model images come from the linked manufacturer sources. We do not reproduce product charts, catalog pages or marketing copy.
A publicly accessible source does not imply a license to reuse its imagery or documents. Those materials remain with their owners. Manufacturer names identify the equipment; this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by those brands.
Image credits
The homepage photograph is by Justine Sterling on Unsplash, used under the Unsplash License. TaylorMade M2 (2016), M2 (2017) and M4 (2018) model images come from their original manufacturer specification sheets, linked on each record. Titleist AP1 (710) and AP2 (712) images come from their respective manufacturer model pages. Product imagery remains the property of its original owners; it is presented to identify the equipment, not as evidence of hands-on testing.
Generation, region and build
The family and generation are separate parts of a record. A model year is not an individual manufacture date. Where a release year has not been verified, we use the documented generation code instead.
Each record includes the source region and build assumptions. Units stay visible, and missing information remains unknown. We do not infer a handedness option or shaft-specific length when the cited table does not establish it.
What this reference does not claim
Factory specifications are not measurements of every used club. Custom orders, bending, reshafting and shortening can change them. We do not claim hands-on testing, authenticate clubs, decode serial numbers, estimate a used set's value or predict carry distance from loft alone.
A chart can inform a fitting conversation. It does not replace a qualified fitter or a check of the actual equipment.
Corrections and updates
When a source changes or a record needs correction, the published record should be checked again and its review date updated. If you spot an inconsistency, the linked primary source is the place to begin. A dedicated corrections channel will be added once it is available.
Funding
The current site has no display ads, affiliate links or sponsored placements. If these are introduced later, the relevant disclosures and privacy information will be updated.
