How to identify this generation
- King Cobra lettering with FORGED SS sits in the lower cavity, with a cobra-head badge in a round recess near the top of the cavity.
What to notice in the specifications
- Cobra’s 2004 table lists the SS Forged in steel only. The P club is shown as PW and the 50°, 55° and 60° wedges keep Cobra’s loft labels.
- The chart comes from an Internet Archive capture of Cobra’s US iron specification page dated 2004-02-21.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
