How to identify this generation
- The pictured muscle back has STAFF MODEL lettering across the lower blade and a small Wilson shield badge near the top toe.
What to notice in the specifications
- Wilson marks the 3 club with an asterisk without explaining it beside the table; treat it as an optional or limited-availability part of the set.
- Wilson’s Staff Model CB table lists the same lofts, lies and lengths from 3-iron to PW; the heads differ, so read the back of the club.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
