How to identify this generation

  • A satin back panel carries the W/S shield, with FORGED above the panel near the hosel, POWER CHAMBER along its heel side and D7 low near the toe; three slots are cut into the upper toe.
  • The D7 name also appears on these Wilson irons; compare their markings before using this chart: D7 (2019 US page).

What to notice in the specifications

  • Wilson’s table gives 4-iron to PW as the stock set and lists the 3-iron and gap wedge as custom options.
  • Wilson’s DynaPwr Forged page lists exactly the same lofts, lies and lengths from 3-iron to GW for a different head.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.

Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
