How to identify this generation
- Match the M1 cavity badge and face-slot design shown in the iron sheet; M1 also names other equipment categories.
What to notice in the specifications
- The M1 AW has a 64° lie, while the 2016 M2 Tour AW is 64.5°. Several shared lofts do not make the charts identical.
- The 2017 archive location identifies this document edition. The sheet carries a 2016 copyright, which is not a club manufacture date.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
