How to identify this generation

• Confirm M4 branding on the head and compare the cavity with the 2018 sheet.
• The manufacturer describes this generation's RIBCOR design; consult the linked source for head photographs.
• Use the archive year as well as the model name. TaylorMade also lists an M4 sheet in a later archive year.

What to notice in the specifications

• Loft and lie figures match the 2017 M2 across the listed rows. Matching angles do not establish identical ball flight or feel.
• The 2018 M4 lob wedge is listed at 35 inches; the 2017 M2 lob wedge is listed at 35.25 inches.
• The source makes a club-by-club left-hand distinction. Do not assume an entire range is available in both hands.

What the chart cannot tell you

A loft figure alone does not predict carry distance or determine a suitable fit. Head design, shaft, strike, swing speed and delivery also matter. Check actual loft and lie with a qualified fitter when a used set's history is uncertain.
