How to identify this generation

  • King Cobra SS-i lettering sits below a large oval amber badge with a cobra emblem in the cavity.

What to notice in the specifications

  • The photo comes from Cobra’s Seniors’ SS-i Oversize page; Cobra’s men’s SS-i page photo was not archived. The Seniors’ heads carry the same SS-i branding but have their own lofts (33.5° 7-iron), so check the build before using this men’s chart.
  • Cobra’s 2004 table also lists Seniors’ (3-iron to 60°, 33.5° 7-iron) and Women’s (33.5° 7-iron, 36.25" 7-iron length) SS-i Oversize builds with separate lofts, lies and lengths.
  • The men’s chart shows steel lengths; Cobra’s graphite lengths are 0.5" longer. The P club is shown as PW and the 50°, 55° and 60° wedges keep Cobra’s loft labels.
  • The chart comes from an Internet Archive capture of Cobra’s US iron specification page dated 2004-02-21.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.

Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
