What year are my golf clubs?
Start with the model, not the year. Pick the brand and club type, add the name or code printed on the head, and narrow the list by era or a known iron loft. Each match is a sourced record in our catalog. Where the manufacturer source states a model year, we show it. Where it does not, we say so: 58 of our 733 records carry a source-stated model year, and we never guess the rest.

A model year is shown only when the manufacturer source states one. A source label such as "2019 archive edition" or "2002-2006 timeline" is the date of the cited page or the period the maker grouped the model under; it is not the year an individual club was made. Results describe catalog records, not the value or fit of your clubs.
How to find the year of an older club
- Read the head. The model name and any series or generation code (for example 712, 718, Mk II or a number such as G410) usually sit on the back, sole or hosel. The same family name is often reused across years, so the code matters more than the name.
- Match the record. Pick the brand and type above and type that name or code. Compare the head with the photo and the identification notes on each result.
- Use the loft as a cross-check. For irons, a 7-iron or pitching-wedge loft that is stamped on the head or measured by a shop can rule records in or out. Bent clubs drift from factory lofts, so treat it as a clue, not proof.
- Read the year information honestly. A source-stated model year identifies the model generation, not the month or year your particular club was built or sold.
What the year information means
- Model year stated by the source (58 records, 1982–2025): the manufacturer's own chart or product page names the year, for example a TaylorMade specification sheet filed under 2016.
- Year not stated, with a source label (496 records, 454 of them with a year in the label): the source gives a page or archive date, a catalog edition, a timeline period or a series code instead. A "2019 archive edition" shows the model was on the maker's site then; it is not a release year.
- No year or label (179 records): the source identifies the model but gives no date. Use the model name and the identification notes.
The era filter uses the stated model year where there is one and otherwise the year in the source label, so it groups records by the date their source carries. Choose "Only records whose source states a model year" to leave labels out.

What this tool does not tell you
It does not date an individual club, decode serial numbers, or tell you what a set is worth or whether it suits you. Factory figures describe a new club built to the stated specification; a used club may have been bent, reshafted, shortened or regripped, and shaft or grip labels can come from a later repair. If your model is not in the catalog, send us the name and we will look for the manufacturer's chart.
