How to identify this generation
- A 2-iron with a dark cavity insert, FORGED on a raised bar at the top of the cavity, a Titleist script at the toe side and 804·OS lettering toward the heel.
- The Forged name also appears on these Titleist irons; compare their markings before using this chart: Forged 690.CB, Forged 704.CB, Forged 670, Forged 690.MB (2005 page); Forged 775.CB, Forged 755, Forged 695MB, Forged 695CB, Forged 735.CM (2006 page); Forged 680 (2025 Limited Edition).
What to notice in the specifications
- Titleist’s table runs from the 2-iron (19.5°) to a 50° W (10 clubs) with D2 swing weights, offsets from .300 in to .120 in and bounce from 0° to 9°.
- Its 2-iron is 39.5 in and 19.5°, 0.5° weaker than the 19° Forged 690.CB 2-iron on Titleist’s 2005 page.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
