How to identify this generation

What to notice in the specifications

  • Titleist’s page calls this a Limited Edition of the FORGED 680 “originally released in 2003” and sells it in 3–PW and 4–PW sets; the table also lists a 19° 2-iron.
  • The original 2003–2006 Forged 680 entry on Titleist’s Previous Models list links to this page, so no separate table for the original run is published.
  • Titleist publishes the same lofts, lies and lengths for Forged 695MB (2006 page), Forged 690.CB (2005 page), Forged 670 (2005 page) and Forged 690.MB (2005 page), different heads.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.

Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
