How to identify this generation
- The Qi’s black carbon-textured insert and Qi logo toward the toe, with a small HL mark at the heel end of the insert.
- The Qi name also appears on these TaylorMade irons; compare their markings before using this chart: Qi (2024 archive edition).
What to notice in the specifications
- Against the Qi sheet, the 5-iron to PW lofts are 1.5 to 2.5° weaker (7-iron 30° against 28°), the lies and 5-iron to AW lengths are the same, and the set starts at the 5-iron.
- The SW is listed at 35.5 in, the same length as the AW and 1/4 in longer than the Qi SW.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
