How to identify this generation
- A chrome players iron with a satin back plate crossed by short vertical lines, P·760 in black on a small badge toward the toe, TaylorMade lettering high toward the heel and FORGED down the toe edge.
- The P-Series name also appears on these TaylorMade irons; compare their markings before using this chart: P750, P770, P790 (2017 archive edition); P7TW, P790, P790 Ti (2019 archive edition); P790 (2021 archive edition); P790 (2023 archive edition).
What to notice in the specifications
- The sheet describes hollow, SpeedFoam-filled 3- to 7-irons and one-piece forged 8-iron to AW; the AW is not offered left-handed.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
