How to identify this generation
- P·770 in black on a satin back panel below TaylorMade lettering, with FORGED low on the toe side and a smaller head than the P750.
- The P-Series name also appears on these TaylorMade irons; compare their markings before using this chart: P750 (2017 archive edition); P7TW (2019 archive edition); P790 (2021 archive edition).
What to notice in the specifications
- The sheet marks every club from 3-iron to AW as available right- and left-handed.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
