How to identify this generation

  • PXG’s render shows the PXG logo toward the toe, a black TUNGSTEN panel with a large round weight port and two pairs of screws along the upper heel side, and 0311XP GEN6 5X FORGED/MILLED on the hosel.
  • The 0311 name also appears on these PXG irons; compare their markings before using this chart: 0311 P GEN7, 0311 P GEN8 (2026 US page); 0311 P GEN5 (GEN5); 0311 P GEN6 (GEN6); 0311 XP GEN7 (GEN7); 0311 XP GEN8, 0311 T GEN8 (GEN8).

What to notice in the specifications

  • PXG labels the wedges “W”, “G”, “S”, “L”; they are shown as PW, GW, SW, LW here so they line up with other sets.
  • PXG publishes the same loft, lie and length table for 0311 XP GEN7 and 0311 XP GEN8; only the offsets and wedge bounces differ, so read the generation on the hosel.
  • The photo comes from PXG’s GEN6 iron comparison page capture of 2023-03-29 because the archived XP product-page photos were not captured.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.

Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
