How to identify this generation
- A compact chrome back with TUNGSTEN lettering along the top line, a round weight screw at the upper toe, a PXG logo in the centre and a second screw low by the heel; the hosel reads 0311T GEN8 5X FORGED/MILLED.
- The 0311 name also appears on these PXG irons; compare their markings before using this chart: 0311 P GEN7, 0311 P GEN8 (2026 US page); 0311 P GEN5 (GEN5); 0311 P GEN6, 0311 XP GEN6 (GEN6); 0311 XP GEN7 (GEN7); 0311 XP GEN8 (GEN8).
What to notice in the specifications
- PXG labels the wedges “W”, “G”; they are shown as PW, GW here so they line up with other sets.
- PXG’s GEN8 page lists this table beside 0311 P GEN8 and 0311 XP GEN8; the photo is PXG’s own GEN8 0311T chrome head from its custom-build listing.
- PXG’s 0317 page publishes the same loft, lie and length table for 0317 T; the two are different heads.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
