How to identify this generation
- A teal cavity panel carries a lowercase ping wordmark and a G Le badge beside a circular insert.
What to notice in the specifications
- PING’s live US site no longer lists this model; the figures come from an Internet Archive capture of PING’s US page dated 2019-08-18.
- Lie angles are PING’s standard specification. PING fits lie angle with a colour-coded dot, so check the dot on a used PING iron against PING’s colour code chart before assuming these lies.
- PING’s table also lists 4-hybrid, 5-hybrid, 6-hybrid heads; this reference keeps only the iron rows. The hybrids need their own specifications.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
