How to identify this generation
- A JPX wordmark sits at the upper toe with FORGED along the top bar and the running-bird logo low in the cavity; the pictured hosel reads 925 and GF FORGED HD.
What to notice in the specifications
- Mizuno publishes an identical table for the JPX925 Forged Black finish; the black version is a finish of this head, not a separate model.
- The existing JPX925 Hot Metal references are different heads with their own charts.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
