How to identify this generation
- Adams’ photo shows a single black-finish 6-iron from the back: an IDEA BLACK badge in the upper cavity, CB2 low on the toe side, FORGED stamped along the lower bar and the number stamped at the top of the toe.
What to notice in the specifications
- Adams lists the set as 4-GW with Matrix Studio 84 graphite or KBS Tour 90 steel; the page heading reads Idea Black CB2 Irons and the sole stamp reads Forged.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
