How to identify this generation
- Adams’ set photo shows five chrome irons with a dark a4OS cavity badge and three black-crowned hybrids on black graphite shafts.
- The Idea Tech name also appears on these Adams irons; compare their markings before using this chart: Idea Tech a4 (2008 US page).
What to notice in the specifications
- Adams sells this set with hybrids in place of the long irons; the same table lists the 3 hybrid (19°, 59.25°, 40.5 in), 4 hybrid (22°, 60°, 39.75 in) and 5 hybrid (25°, 61°, 39 in) as loft, lie and length. Those hybrid rows are kept out of the chart.
- Adams writes the name IDEA TECH a4OS and lists Graphite Design YSQ-HL graphite for hybrids and irons with True Temper GS 75 steel for the irons.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
