Identifying the right model

  • A hollow chrome wedge with a black HOUDINI SOLE rail on the toe side of the back, Tour Edge HOT LAUNCH over an orange underline on the flat lower back at the toe, X525 on a raised panel toward the heel, a yellow stripe near the top and S 56 stamped on the sole.

What to check before using the reference

  • Three lofts (52°, 56°, 60°) at 6° bounce, all listed right- and left-handed.
  • Tour Edge’s Hot Launch Max D wedge table publishes the same three lofts, 64° lie, 35.5/35.25/35 in lengths and RH/LH availability; the only published difference is that the X525 table gives 6° bounce and the Max D table none. The heads are different models.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
