How to identify this generation
- A 5-iron with a black insert at the toe end of the top line, a Titleist script on a bordered cavity panel with a red-accented C16 badge at the panel’s toe end, and a second black insert near the heel.
What to notice in the specifications
- Titleist’s C16 table runs from the 4-iron (22°) to a 47° W (8 clubs) with lies from 61° to 64°, lengths from 38.5 in to 35.5 in and offsets from .209 in to .091 in; it prints no swing weight or bounce rows.
- The page lists Mitsubishi Rayon KURO KAGE AMC graphite and Nippon N.S. PRO 880 AMC steel as the base shafts, both stepping 3 g per club.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
