How to identify this generation
- Confirm both AP2 and the 712 generation against the archived manufacturer page.
- Do not substitute AP1 specifications or another AP2 generation's table.
- Replacement shafts, refinishing and worn markings can make identification harder. Use clear photographs of the full head.
What to notice in the specifications
- The loft steps from 5-iron through W are 4°. That regular spacing describes the factory angles, not fixed yardage gaps.
- The AP2 (712) 7-iron has 2° more loft than the AP1 (710) 7-iron in these records. They are different families and generations.
- The record uses the verified 712 generation code. Individual manufacture dates and a confirmed release year are not supplied.
What the chart cannot tell you
A loft figure alone does not predict carry distance or determine a suitable fit. Head design, shaft, strike, swing speed and delivery also matter. Check actual loft and lie with a qualified fitter when a used set's history is uncertain.
