How to identify this generation
- A dark panel across the cavity with RSi 1 in red and grey low toward the toe and TaylorMade lettering on the upper rail.
- The RSi name also appears on these TaylorMade irons; compare their markings before using this chart: RSi 2, RSi TP (2015 archive edition).
What to notice in the specifications
- The sheet places Face Slots in the 3- to 8-irons and a Speed Pocket with ThruSlot in the 3- to 7-irons.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
