How to identify this generation
- A chrome cavity with an oval LT badge high on the heel side, five small dark ports across the upper cavity and the rac logo with a red mark below them.
- The rac name also appears on these TaylorMade irons; compare their markings before using this chart: rac MB (2003 archive edition); rac Forged TP, rac OS (2004 archive edition); rac TP MB (2006 archive edition).
What to notice in the specifications
- The graphite length column runs 1/4 in longer than the steel column used here.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
