Identifying the right model

  • The dark G400 sole has an orange-trimmed weight beside the PING wordmark, with STRETCH lettering near the heel.
  • Match the full model name and any suffix (MAX, LST, SFT, HL, Stretch) on the head as well as the printed loft.

What to check before using the reference

  • PING’s live US site no longer lists this model; the figures come from an Internet Archive capture of PING’s US page dated 2019-08-18.
  • The table gives the standard setting of each head. PING lists ±1° of loft adjustability, so the hosel setting on a used club can change its loft and lie from these values.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
