How to identify this generation
- APEX lettering sits on the lower toe beside a Callaway chevron logo, with a black accent across the upper cavity.
- Callaway reuses family names across years (Apex, Big Bertha, Rogue, X Forged), so match the year-specific markings and photo as well as the lofts.
What to notice in the specifications
- Callaway’s live site no longer serves this data to automated requests; the figures come from an Internet Archive capture of Callaway’s US specification panel dated 2015-07-29.
- Callaway publishes the same lofts, lies and lengths for Callaway Apex CF 16 irons (2016). The heads differ, so use the markings and photo rather than these numbers to tell them apart.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
