Identifying the right model

  • A 56-11 SM4 in Oil Can finish: BV wings over 56-11 high on the back, a Titleist script, SPIN MILLED SM4 around a sun logo low at the toe and VOKEY DESIGN along the hosel side.

What to check before using the reference

  • Titleist’s SM4 table lists 21 models from 46.08 to 64.07 with a 64° lie throughout, Full, M, S, L and T soles and D3/D5 swing weights.
  • Finish availability is per model: Tour Chrome and Oil Can are RH/LH for most models, Black Nickel is RH only, and the 48.10, 50.12 and 52.12 are RH only in every finish.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
