Identifying the right model

  • LIGHTNING TOUR MID lettering runs along the toe edge of a black carbon-look sole, with a round weight port and a slotted weight by the hosel; the hosel reads 9.

What to check before using the reference

  • PXG lists the 8° head as right-hand only; 9° and 10.5° are offered in both hands.
  • The Tour Mid shares the Lightning drivers page with the Lightning Max 10K+, Lightning Tour (59° lie) and Lightning Max Lite heads.
  • PXG publishes the same loft, lie, length and head-weight rows (8°, 9° and 10.5° at 60°, 45.5 in, 203 g) for the 8° to 10.5° heads of the Black Ops 0311 driver, a different head.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
