How to identify this generation
- A small orange X2 HOT badge sits at the toe end of a black cavity bar with a silver Callaway chevron plate at the centre; the club number is on the toe of the topline.
- The X Hot name also appears on these Callaway irons; compare their markings before using this chart: X Hot, X Hot Pro (2013); X2 Hot, X Hot N14 (2014).
What to notice in the specifications
- Callaway publishes the same lofts, lies and lengths for Callaway XR Pro irons (2015), Callaway Rogue Pro irons (2018), Callaway Steelhead XR Pro irons (2017); the heads differ.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
