How to identify this generation
- A white Callaway panel sits at the toe end of a black-framed cavity with a red X and HOT lettering nearer the hosel; the club number is stamped on the toe of the topline.
- The X Hot name also appears on these Callaway irons; compare their markings before using this chart: X Hot Pro (2013); X2 Hot, X Hot N14, X2 Hot Pro (2014).
What to notice in the specifications
- Callaway also lists a women’s build (36 in 7-iron) with the same lofts and lies.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
