How to identify this generation
- A chrome cavity back with a gold oval insert lettered XXIO PRIME, a Royal Edition script on the upper back toward the toe, three small diamonds on the sole flange and a 7 on the top line.
What to notice in the specifications
- XXIO’s footnote says the 5-iron is special-order only (it is marked with an asterisk in the table).
- The table carries no hand or flex column; the Ladies page lists right-hand and L flex.
- XXIO’s Prime Royal Edition Ladies irons page is a separate table with the same clubs 2° weaker (30° 7-iron, 44° PW) and 1 in shorter (36.5 in 7-iron), B9 swing weight and L flex; it is a stock build of this line, not a separate record.
- The XXIO 13 irons chart shares these lofts (22° 5-iron to 42° PW) but lists every club 0.25 in shorter; the heads differ.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
