Identifying the right model

  • From above, a navy mallet with narrower rear wings, a white stripe and black centre line only across the central body, triangular cut-outs front and rear and a short slant-neck hosel at the heel.

What to check before using the reference

  • Tour Edge lists the 803 with a slant neck, 35° toe hang hosel, right-hand only, at 365 g in both stock lengths.
  • The Wingman 801 and 805 publish the same 3° loft, 71° lie, 34 and 35 in stock lengths, slant-neck hosel with 35° toe hang and 365 g head weight, right-hand only; the heads differ in shape only.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
