Identifying the right model

  • The sheet's back view shows a black-finished head with two milled feel pockets either side of a small TP shield badge, TaylorMade script along the lower back toward the toe and the loft (56) stamped on the top line beside the hosel.
  • TaylorMade publishes the same five codes (52.08, 54.10, 56.12, 58.08, 60.06) with the same lengths, offsets, swing weights and hands for the rac Satin TP (2006) and the Z TP (2008), different heads; the black finish and the TP shield separate this one from the 2003 rac Black, which carries the rac arc logo and BLACK lettering between its feel pockets instead of the shield.

What to check before using the reference

  • Left-handed builds are listed for the 52°, 56° and 60° heads; the stock shaft is True Temper Dynamic Gold wedge flex with a TaylorMade TGT wedge grip.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
