Identifying the right model

  • The sheet's hero shows a single dark smoke PVD head from the back: an EF SPIN GROOVE arc under a red R-SERIES badge marked TOUR GRIND across the back, TaylorMade script along the top edge, CARBON STEEL printed down the hosel and the loft (56) stamped on the top line beside the hosel.
  • The grind column separates the Tour Grind rows (numeric bounce) from the ATV rows (no bounce figure); 52° to 60° are offered in both.

What to check before using the reference

  • TaylorMade's sheet describes these as its TP wedges with electroformed nickel-cobalt (EF) grooves in a 1025 carbon steel body; the 2015 copyright line dates the sheet, which the archive files under 2016.
  • Two finishes are listed, dark smoke PVD and satin chrome; the 47° and 62° heads are right-handed only.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
