How to identify this generation
- A wide chrome head with a red cavity insert, BURNER lettering on the top rail and SUPERLAUNCH lettering across the lower cavity.
- The Burner name also appears on these TaylorMade irons; compare their markings before using this chart: Burner XD (2007 archive edition); Tour Burner, Burner Plus (2008 archive edition); Burner (2009 archive edition).
What to notice in the specifications
- The 3-iron is listed right-handed only, and a footnote says women’s left-handed clubs are not available.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
Read our loft guide for a worked example of comparing the numbers, and our used iron checklist before relying on a seller's description.
