Documented specifications & build options

Individually sold crossover / driving-iron heads, not a full iron set. Lengths are PING’s standard build in inches, converted from fractional inches (39 1/4" = 39.25"); PING’s footnote says the steel-shaft standard length is 1/2" shorter than the graphite length. Lie angle is PING’s Black colour code at standard length.

Identifying the right model

  • A satin chrome head with black PING on the upper back, a slotted screw weight in the toe, a ribbed cavity panel with iDi lettering toward the heel, and FORGED with a colour-code dot on the hosel.

What to check before using the reference

  • PING’s page describes the three lofts: the 17° 2-iron as a traditional low-launch driving iron, the 20° 3-iron as a driving iron or long-iron replacement and the 23° 4-iron as the higher-launching head.
  • PING says each iDi is shorter and 1° flatter than its previous generation, which the page does not name. The listed stock shafts are graphite; PING’s footnote puts a steel-shafted build 1/2 in shorter than the graphite length shown.
  • The PING iCrossover has its own record.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
