Identifying the right model

  • A satin cavity back with an MX-900 badge at its centre below a Mizuno wordmark, HYBRID HEMI COG lettering along the top edge and GRAIN FLOW FORGED on the hosel.

What to check before using the reference

  • The US-site timeline labels this head 2006-2007.
  • The linked chart lists a 34° 7-iron and 46° pitching wedge.
  • The source range is 3 through PW; it describes listed specifications, not the contents of every retail or used set.
  • Mizuno’s MX-950 chart lists the same lofts from 3-iron to PW with whole-degree lies; the heads are different models.
  • Mizuno’s MP-63 reference (2011-2012 timeline) carries an identical loft and lie table from 3-iron to PW, and the MP-64, MP-54, MP-69 and MP-59 charts (which also publish lengths) share every loft and lie with this head.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
