Identifying the right model
- A rounded mallet with a large open ring cut through the centre, RETREVE lettered on the sole beside HB SOFT 2, MODEL RETREVE OPTIMIZED MILLING along the face edge and a single-bend shaft.
What to check before using the reference
- Cleveland’s footnote says putter shafts 35 in and over include a 20 g counterbalance weight.
- Cleveland’s Women’s HB SOFT 2 RETREVE page lists the same head at 32 in with a WM Standard grip; it is included as the Women’s configuration.
- Cleveland also sells an HB SOFT 2 Black RETREVE (black finish) on its own page without a specification table, and a counterbalanced RETREVE CB with its own record.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
