Identifying the right model
- A polished chrome wedge with a Cleveland script along the top edge, a gold Cleveland roundel in the centre, Tour Action script with REG. 588 in gold beneath it, 56° stamped toward the heel and an S on the toe.
What to check before using the reference
- Cleveland’s page says the shaping matches the original 588 wedges; this Limited Edition is a current head with Z-Alloy, HydraZip, ZipCore and UltiZip construction, and the original 588’s figures are not on the live site.
- Three right-hand heads are listed and marked G (52°), S (56°) and L (60°) with one bounce each.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
