Identifying the right model
- Low-angle sole photo on black: a silver r7 quad sole with four TLC cartridge ports, two side by side at the rear toward the toe and one on the heel side by the hosel, TaylorMade script under the logo and 9.5 by the hosel.
What to check before using the reference
- The right-handed TP heads are 7.5°, 8.5°, 9.5° and 10.5°; the sheet lists the left-handed head as club “9.0” with a 9.5° loft, and the combined 2005 “r7 Drivers” sheet prints the same row, so it is shown as printed.
- Stock TP shafts on the sheet are the Fujikura Speeder 757, Fujikura SIX and Mitsubishi TP-70 LT (X, S, R each) with a TV 60R grip at D3; the combined 2005 “r7 Drivers” sheet instead names the Mitsubishi Diamana 83 as the third shaft and says no other custom shafts were offered.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
