Identifying the right model
- Sole view with the r7 in red and black and orange quad lettering above TaylorMade script, four round TLC ports (two at the rear, one at the toe and one at the heel) and 9.5 at the heel.
What to check before using the reference
- The combined 2005 “r7 Drivers” sheet lists five lofts for the r7 quad, with left-handed heads at 9.5° and 10.5°; the separate r7 quad sheet in the same archive column lists only 7.5° to 10.5°, otherwise with the same figures.
- TaylorMade describes Movable Weight Technology with six sets of launch conditions; the stock shaft is the M.A.S.² 7-65 (TS, S, R, M; 65 g) with a TaylorMade TGT grip at D3.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
