Identifying the right model

  • Dark sole with silver spokes and r7 CGB MAX lettering, three movable weight ports (one at the rear heel, one at the toe and one by the hosel), a red crown edge and 9.5 by the hosel.

What to check before using the reference

  • At 415 cc and a 58° lie it is a different head from the 460 cc, 59° r7 CGB MAX; the three lofts are listed right-handed only at 45 in, and the sheet has no swingweight column.
  • TaylorMade sold it as a box with three interchangeable shafts (Matrix Xcon-5 at D3, Diamana White 65 and Fujikura Rombax 75 at D4, each X, S, R), three movable weights, a wrench case with six additional weights and a torque wrench.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
