Identifying the right model

  • Sole view with r7 in red and black over 425 lettering, TaylorMade script, yellow trim along the rear sole, two oval TLC ports at the rear and one at the heel, and 9.5 by the hosel.

What to check before using the reference

  • Left-handed heads are listed at 9.5° and 10.5°; the stock RE*AX 65 shaft (X, S, R, M; 65 g) carries a TaylorMade TGT grip at D4, and the swingweight column itself reads “See Below”.
  • The 2005 r7 425 TP sheet lists a separate head with 7.5° to 10.5° lofts at the same 425 cc, 59° and 45 in.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
