Identifying the right model

  • Sole view with r5 dual lettering and TaylorMade script, two TLC ports (rear and heel) and a 3 on the black heel-side sole band; the face is scorelined chrome.

What to check before using the reference

  • All three heads are listed left-handed as well, at D2; TaylorMade’s 2005 archive column links a combined “Fairways” sheet whose “r5 Dual Ti Fairway Woods” table repeats these figures unchanged.
  • The sheet describes a titanium head with dual pre-configured TLC cartridges and an M.A.S.² 55 FW shaft (TS, S, R, M; 54–57 g) on a TaylorMade TGT grip.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
