Identifying the right model
- The sole photo shows a black sole with a lime-green M2 badge and D-TYPE lettering beneath it in the middle, TaylorMade script above the badge toward the heel, a round screw weight in the toe-side rear corner, GEOCOUSTIC lettering with lime stripes along the rear crown edge and a white 9.5 badge above the hosel.
What to check before using the reference
- The lie range is a degree more upright than the standard 2017 M2 (59° to 63° against 58° to 62°) at the same lofts and length; the sheet describes more heel weight, added offset and a slightly closed face.
- The sheet also lists M2 D-Type women’s heads at 10.5° and 12°, right-handed only, 44.5 in at C9 with a Matrix MFS5 White Tie 45 shaft.
- Stock build on the sheet: Matrix MFS5 White Tie 55 shaft (S, R) with a TM Dual Feel 47 g grip at D3.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
