Identifying the right model

  • The sole photo shows a white crown edge with a red 15° badge at the top on the face side, a black sole with two round sliding weights on a track lettered FADE and DRAW along the face side with a red N between them, TaylorMade script across the middle, a white M1 with a gold 1 toward the heel and a red 3 badge above the hosel.

What to check before using the reference

  • The 3HL 17° head is listed right-handed only; the 3 and 5 are also left-handed.
  • Stock build on the sheet: Fujikura Pro 70 shaft (X, S, R, M) with a TM Lamkin Performance 360 52 g grip at D4; the front track carries two 15 g sliding weights.
  • The 2017 M1 fairway sheet lists the same three heads at 56° to 61° lie ranges with 150 cc, 151 cc and 132 cc.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
