Identifying the right model

  • Silver sole with TaylorMade script and 18° at the toe end, a yellow flame-and-red B over BURNER RESCUE lettering, a round weight badge toward the toe and a 3 by the hosel.

What to check before using the reference

  • The graphite table covers Tour heads T2 18°, T3 20° and T4 23° (109–111 cc; 39.5 to 38.5 in; all left-handed as well) and standard heads 17° to 28° (115–119 cc); the 22°, 25° and 28° standard heads carry women’s lengths 1 in shorter at C8, and the 17° and 28° heads are right-handed only. The steel table lists the standard heads half an inch shorter, all at D3.
  • The 2007 Burner Rescue sheet in the catalog lists 19° to 28° heads of 114 to 117 cc without the 17° 2-Rescue or the Tour heads. TaylorMade’s separate 2008 “Women’s Metalwoods” sheet repeats the women’s 22°, 25° and 28° figures (38.5, 38 and 37.5 in at C8) with a RE*AX SuperFast 50 L shaft.
  • Stock shafts are the RE*AX SF 85 H (X, S, R; TV 58 grip), RE*AX SF 60 (S, R, M; Arrow 2 grip), RE*AX 85 steel (S, R) and a RE*AX 50 H L flex on a Winn grip; TaylorMade describes a Dual Crown and the largest footprint of any TaylorMade Rescue.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
