Identifying the right model

  • Silver sole with TaylorMade script and 15° at the toe end, a yellow flame-and-red B Burner badge, BURNER lettering, a round weight badge toward the toe and a 3 by the hosel.

What to check before using the reference

  • The one table covers two head shapes: Tour heads TS 13°, T3 14.5° and T5 17.5° (144–161 cc, 43 and 42 in, D5) and the standard “market” heads 15°, 18° and 21° (190, 167 and 161 cc) with men’s/women’s lengths of 43/42, 42.5/41.5 and 42/41 in at D5/D0. Only the TS is right-handed only; the market heads are left-handed for men and right-handed only for women.
  • The 2007 Burner fairway sheet in the catalog lists smaller 181, 164 and 158 cc heads at 43, 42.5 and 42 in with no Tour heads. TaylorMade’s separate 2008 “Women’s Metalwoods” sheet repeats the women’s 15°, 18° and 21° figures (42, 41.5 and 41 in at D0) with a RE*AX SuperFast 49 L shaft.
  • Stock shafts are the RE*AX 70 FW (X, S, R; 70 g; TV Lite 60 grip) and RE*AX SF 49 FW (S, R, M; Arrow 2 grip), with an L flex on a Winn grip at D0.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
