Identifying the right model
- Seen from above, the black half-round grid-panel DS72 shape with a silver top rail and white sight line, but with the shaft entering the top of the head beside the rail near its centre rather than at the heel.
What to check before using the reference
- PING describes the DS72 C as the centre-shafted version of the DS72 head (CS hosel, no offset) for straight strokes; the heel-shafted 2023 DS72 is a separate record.
Checking a club you own? These are the maker's published figures for an original build, not measurements of your club, and a source date is not the year it was made. Bending, reshafting or a hosel adjustment changes loft, lie and length, so identify the head by its own markings and have a fitter measure it when its history is unclear.
